The Harrisburg Senators continued their struggles against the Bowie Baysox this season on Friday night, falling 7-1 at Metro Bank Park. A crowd of 5680 saw the Senators fall to 29-32 on the year.

Ryan Adams of Bowie (31-30) hit a two-run home run in the first inning to put the Baysox in front 2-0, and also singled to lead off the third. After a pop-out by Caleb Joseph, Joel Guzman hit his thirteenth home run of the season to drive home Adams, and double the lead. Bowie tacked on another run in the fourth, when Carlos Rojas brought home Tyler Henson with a sacrifice fly to make it 5-0.

The Sens got their one run in the bottom of the sixth inning, thanks to an RBI single by Marvin Lowrance. Lowrance drove in Jesus Valdez on the play. Lowrance and Valdez each had two hits on the night: two singles for Lowrance, and two doubles for Valdez. Michael Martinez, Danny Espinosa, and Edgardo Baez each had one hit in the defeat.

Starter Aaron Thompson (2-9) lasted just three and two-thirds innings, allowed four earned runs, and took the loss. Zach Britton (6-3) gave up just one run in six innings for the Baysox, and improved to 4-0 against the Senators on the season.

Game two of the three-game series is Saturday night at 7 PM, with LHP Tom Milone (5-2, 3.18) scheduled to pitch for the Sens. Right-hander Steven Johnson (2-3, 4.30) goes for Bowie. Fans can hear all the action on 1460 AM The Ticket, and online at www.senatorsbaseball.com, starting at 6:45 PM.
