Baysox Director of Marketing Brandan Kaiser looks forward to the event each year. "The Negro Leagues have always fascinated me," Kaiser said. "The stuff that these guys had to go through just to play professional ball is incredible and shows how much they loved the game. I can hardly wait to talk to them and hear stories from their playing days."
To honor the former players, the Baysox will take the field in nine different Negro League replica jerseys.
Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye helps plan the event each year. "These players never received the credit they deserved in their playing days," Wrye said. "It's great that we get the opportunity to honor them at Prince George's Stadium."
