Battle For Playoffs Continues

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers are one point behind the Albany River Rats in the race for the East Division's fourth and final playoff spot with 14 games to play. The Sound Tigers went 1-3 during a four-game road trip through Albany, Norfolk and Philadelphia this past week. Their next game is in Binghamton on Friday and the Sound Tigers return to the Arena at Harbor Yard to host the Portland Pirates two days in a row - Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
Weekly recap: After falling 4-1 in Albany last Wednesday, the Sound Tigers won 5-3 in Norfolk on Friday, becoming just the sixth team to win at Norfolk Scope this season. The Norfolk Admirals, who boast the best record in the American Hockey League, rebounded and defeated the Sound Tigers 6-3 on Saturday. Bridgeport ended its trip with a 7-4 loss to the Phantoms in Philadelphia on Sunday.
First points: Ken Magowan and Cam McCaffrey scored their first Sound Tiger goals in Saturday's defeat at Norfolk. For McCaffrey, it was his first American Hockey League tally.
Player of the Week Honors: Eric Boguniecki won the CCM/Vector AHL Player of the Week award last week. Boguniecki had four goals and five assists in three games.
Extended and snapped: Boguniecki extended his points streak to eight straight games with an assist in Albany on Wednesday and a goal and two assists Friday at Norfolk. His streak ended Saturday.
In the standings: The Sound Tigers are in fifth place with a record of 31-29-1-5. They have two games left with the River Rats - home on April 1 and away on April 6.
Post-game Skate with Islander Legends/ Zambonis Concert
New York Islander legends, including Bobby Nystrom and Clark Gillies, will be on hand to skate with fans following the game against the Portland Pirates on March 25th. The cult classic hockey band, The Zambonis, will perform on the ice during an open skate for fans with Islander legends. The concert and skate will immediately follow the 1 p.m. game. Limited skate rentals will be available. Stick around after the game to skate on Sound Tiger ice with legends and enjoy your favorite hard-hitting hockey songs!

On Friday, March 30, when the Sound Tigers host the rival Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:30 p.m., it's Golf Night. All fans will receive a coupon good for a round at the Sports Center of Connecticut's driving range.
Hockey Card Giveaway, April 1
Come to the Sunday, April 1 game against the Albany River Rats at 4 p.m. and take home a set of Sound Tigers cards.
Team Photo Giveaway, April 15
Sunday, April 15, when the Sound Tigers host the Norfolk Admirals at 1 p.m., is Fan Appreciation Day. Fans will receive a team photo.
