Moose Sign Mason Raymond to ATO

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have signed forward Mason Raymond to an amateur tryout contract.

Raymond, 21, just completed his second season at the University of Minnesota-Duluth where he appeared in 39 games, scoring 14 goals and 32 assists for 46 points and 17 penalty minutes. The Calgary, AB native finished second in overall scoring in the WCHA and was tops in the league in assists and powerplay points. In two seasons with the Bulldogs, Raymond appeared in 79 games and scored 25 goals along with 49 assists for 74 points and 47 penalty minutes. He was voted to the WCHA's All-Rookie Team last season. Raymond will forego his final two years at UMD by joining the Moose.

Raymond was originally Vancouver's second round choice, 51st overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
