'Dogs return to action at Copps Coliseum this week

The Hamilton Bulldogs (American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) return to Copps Coliseum for the first time since February 23rd for a pair of games before heading back on the road to round out the week in Toronto. On Wednesday, March 21st the Rochester Americans (AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and Florida Panthers) invade Copps Coliseum at 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs will then host the Albany River Rats (AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes) at Copps Coliseum on Friday, March 23rd at 7:30 p.m. Hamilton will finish off its weekly schedule with a trip down the QEW to battle the Toronto Marlies (AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs) at Ricoh Coliseum on Saturday, March 24th at 7:00 p.m.

The 'Dogs posted a 1-1-0-0 record in two games against the Syracuse Crunch (AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets) last week. Hamilton completed a nine-game road trip with a 4-2-1-2 record on Friday night when Matt D'Agostini tied a franchise record and became the first Bulldog to score four goals in a single road game to lift Hamilton to a 5-4 overtime win at the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter. On Sunday afternoon, the Crunch rebounded to down the Bulldogs 3-2 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.

With 81 points in 67 games and a record of 37-23-3-4 this season, the 'Dogs currently sit in second place in the North Division standings, eight points behind the division leading Manitoba Moose (89 points in 67 games) and two points ahead of third place Rochester Americans (79 points in 66 games).

- Montreal G Jaroslav Halak (4-4-0) had a career-high single game save percentage of .949 with 37 saves and stopped three-of-four shootout attempts while being named the game's first star vs. Toronto (Mar. 17) in a 3-2 shootout win

- Montreal LW Andrei Kostitsyn (1-6-7) doubled his point total while registering four points including: one goal in regulation play and the shootout game-winning goal vs. Toronto (Mar. 17) in a 3-2 shootout win, and three assists including an assist on the game-winning goal while being named the game's second star vs. the Islanders (Mar. 13) in a 5-3 win
