Knights To Hold Audition For Knight Patrol
March 19, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Abbotsford Heat News Release
The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights are building a second team for what they hope will be a long run in the Calder Cup Playoffs. The Knights are looking for talented, energetic ladies interested in being a part of the inaugural "Knight Patrol", a dance team that will perform at Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' games and serve as ambassadors in the community.
Auditions will be held on Wednesday, March 28 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Omaha Civic Auditorium Music Hall. Those interested in auditioning must be at least 19 years of age, have a solid dancing background and be available to promote the team in addition to working games during the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs and the 2007-08 regular season.
"This is an exciting time to be a part of Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' hockey," said Dana Dyksterhuis, Vice President of Marketing and Communications. "The team is headed towards the playoffs, and we're looking to further that energy by creating the Knight Patrol. This will give us another team to provide entertainment in-game and a positive team image in the community."
Participants in the audition are asked to check in at the Music Hall entrance on 17th Street. Prospective Knight Patrol members should bring a resume. Participants will be judged on appearance, showmanship, dance ability, poise, personality and speaking ability. They also will be asked to introduce themselves and provide an overview of their background, education and goals.
The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights will host the Milwaukee Admirals on Wednesday, March 21 at 7:00 p.m. The Knights then head south to Texas to play Houston and San Antonio on Saturday and Sunday at the start of a four-game road trip. All the action can be heard live on 1420 KOTK and on the internet at omahaaksarbenknights.com. The game also can be seen on-line through the B2 Networks link on the Knights' web site.
Tickets for all Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' games are on sale at the Omaha Civic Auditorium box office Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets also are available through all Ticketmaster outlets and by phone at (402) 422-1212. Kids 12 and under get in free with a paid adult on tickets purchased after 5:00 p.m. Other restrictions apply.
