UPCOMING OPPONENTS

Wednesday, March 21- Phantoms @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 7:05: Sunday, March 25 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 7:05: The Phantoms kick off their week by heading to Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton to take on the Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins) and end their week by facing them at the Wachovia Spectrum. The Penguins are currently in third place in the East Division and the AHL with a record of 42-18-2-4 for 90 points. The Pens have won seven of their last 10 games. Rob Schremp and Tyler Kennedy are both ranked among the top 20 rookie scorers in the league. Schremp has posted 16 goals and 29 assists for 45 points, while Kennedy has accumulated 37 points by finding the back of the net 12 times and assisting 25 times. Jonathan Filewich continues to lead his team with 25 goals and 24 assists for 49 points. The last time the Penguins and the Phantoms met was February 17, with the Phantoms winning 3-1.

Friday, March 23- Phantoms vs. Springfield Falcons, 7:05: The Phantoms take on the Springfield Falcons (Tampa Bay Lightning) at the Wachovia Spectrum on Friday. The Falcons are currently in sixth place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 26-39-1-2 for 55 points. Eric Healy leads his team with 26 goals and 37 assists for 63 points. Norm Milley follows Healy in scoring with 23 goals and 32 assists for 55 points. The Phantoms and the Falcons last faced off on January 27 with the Phantoms posting a 2-1 win.

Saturday, March 24 - Phantoms @ Hershey Bears, 7:00: The Phantoms head to Hershey, PA for the second Saturday in a row to face the Hershey Bears (Washington Capitals) at the GIANT Center. The Bears are 41-14-6-6 for 94 points, which puts them in second place in the East Division and the AHL. Joey Tenute has posted 21 goals and 33 assists for 54 points. Dave Steckel helps Hershey with 27 goals and 23 assists for 50 points, which also makes him the leading goal scorer for the Bears. The AHL's most recent CCM/ Vector Player of the Week was the Bears Kyle Wilson. He had four goals and six assists for 10 points and a plus-7 rating last week in three games.

This Sunday evening is the critically-acclamed annual Photo Night with the Phantoms! Bring your own camera and come on the ice after the game to take photos with all your favorite players!

CALENDAR-WORTHY EVENTS COMING UP

There are still many special nights over the final weeks of the regular season. Upcoming evenings include R.J. Umberger Bobblehead Night on March 30, Faith and Family Night on April 6, T-Shirt Jerseys on April 13 and Fan Appreciation Night on April 15.

POTULNY NOMINATED FOR PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The Phantoms nominate Ryan Potulny for CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week honors this week. Potulny returned to action after missing six games due to an injury and had a breakout weekend, recording three goals and two assists for five points and a plus-five rating. The performance earned him a Monday call-up to the Flyers.

COMING AND GOING

Although Potulny is headed to the NHL again, the Phantoms have reinforcements coming in the form of three collegiate players. Jonathan Matsumoto made his professional debut over the weekend and scored his first professional goal on Sunday vs. Bridgeport. He was selected by the Flyers in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and comes to the Phantoms from Bowling Green State University. This week, the Phantoms will welcome Kyle Greentree, a free agent out of Alaska-Fairbanks. Also coming into town is Darroll Powe, who has signed an amateur tryout agreement with the club following his season at Princeton University.

PHANTOMS NOTABLES

The line of Ryan Potulny, Boyd Kane and Mark Cullen accounted for five goals in the three games this weekend... Philadelphia's game against Springfield this Friday is its last of the season against a non-divisional opponent... Jonathan Matsumoto made his professional debut on Friday night vs. Rochester and scored his first professional goal on Sunday vs. Bridgeport.

PHANTOMS HOCKEY ON THE INTERNET

Through a partnership with 610 WIP, selected Phantoms games are being carried on the Internet via the audio stream at www.610WIP.com. Wednesday's game in Wilkes-Barre, Friday's contest vs. Springfield and Saturday's game at Hershey will all be broadcast on the site, with Mike Thornton providing play-by-play.
