Worcester Sharks News Release

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced today the organization will host the first annual GUNS N' HOSES NIGHT on March 24th against the Providence Bruins at DCU Center. A post-game fireworks display presented by WAAF will serve as the grand finale to a special evening. WAAF's morning show voice, Lyndon Byers, will be in attendance as a special Master of Ceremonies. The first 3,000 fans into the arena will receive a "Chip-Clip," courtesy of Telegram and Gazette.

The Worcester Sharks will hold a triple-header with the first game of the night featuring the Massachusetts State Police "C" troop against the "D" troop at 3:30 p.m.

The second game will feature the Worcester Fire Department versus the Worcester Police Department at 4:45 p.m. The first annual GUNS N' HOSES game will be refereed by former NHL official and current Boston Bruins Foundation Director, Paul Stewart.

"We are thrilled to team up with Worcester's local heroes for a special night," said Lehr. "It's important to honor those who risk their lives day in and day out to keep the community safe. We truly are excited about this night and plan to make it an annual event."

In spirit of the night, the Worcester Sharks will donate $2 for every group ticket sold as well as all tickets sold at the door on the day of the game to the city's "Save Our Summer" campaign. The Sharks will also donate $1 of every Autographed Mystery Puck sold during the game to the program.

"Save Our Summer" was selected by the Worcester Police and Fire Departments, in conjunction with the Sharks. "Save Our Summer" is a campaign designed to raise money to open the City of Worcester's Public Pools and keep them open throughout the summer. These pools are enjoyed by thousands of children in and around the Worcester community.

"The Worcester Fire Department and Worcester Police Department feel it's important to keep Worcester's Public Pools open so we're happy to be able to support it this way," said Lieutenant Thomas White of the Worcester Fire Department. "At the same time, it's always a great game when the two departments play each other so we're excited."

The entire evening will be themed as GUNS N' HOSES with Police and Fire vehicles on the DCU Center Plaza, Tom Hurley of the Worcester Police Department singing the National Anthem and an intermission tug-of-war between the Police and Fire Departments. The Worcester Fire Department's Honor Guard and Pipe and Drum core will be in attendance as well.

For more information on tickets or promotions of the night, fans are urged to call the Sharks offices at 508.929.0500 or Crash the Net at the team's official website, Sharksahl.com.
