Oklahoma City Barons News Release
Rocco Grimaldi scored two goals in San Antonio's three-goal second period as the Rampage skated past the Oklahoma City Barons 4-1 Tuesday night at the Cox Convention Center.
With the Rampage leading 1-0 on a Kyle Rau goal at 16:46 of the first period, Grimaldi netted two second period goals 46 seconds apart to increase San Antonio's advantage to 3-0. Connor Brickley assisted on both of Grimaldi's goals, which came at 12:33 and 13:19 respectively.
San Antonio's Wade Megan added a goal 17:26 of the second period to give the Rampage a 4-0 lead.
Suffering their ninth loss in ten games, the Barons fell to sixth place in the AHL's Western Conference and third place in the West Division, two points behind the Texas Stars, who won at Iowa Tuesday night.
Brad Hunt scored Oklahoma City's lone goal against San Antonio net minder Sam Brittain, who stopped 24 Barons shots to earn his third win in four games this season. Laurent Brossoit made 30 saves for Oklahoma City.
Nick Pageau assisted on Hunt's goal, giving the defenseman three points in five games this season.
The Barons next travel to Des Moines, Iowa, where they face the Iowa Wild on Friday, April 10, in a 7 p.m. start at Wells Fargo Arena.
