Capitals Recall Stanislav Galiev from Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have recalled right wing Stanislav Galiev from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.

Galiev, 23, registered 45 points (25 goals, 20 assists) in 64 games with Hershey this season. The Moscow native has set career highs in goals, assists and points this season, leads the AHL in power-play goals (15) and ranks first among Bears skaters in goals. Galiev recorded a career-high six game point streak from Feb. 6-15 (five goals, four assists) and has tallied 10 multi-point games this season. The 6'1", 187-pound right wing has earned 52 points (28 goals, 24 assists) in 97 career AHL games. Galiev was selected by Washington in the third round, 86th overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft. He will wear No. 49 with the Capitals.
