Barons Annual Blood Drive Is Saturday

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons are teaming with the Oklahoma Blood Institute for their annual blood drive on Saturday, March 15 from 1 - 6 p.m.

Fans can give the gift of a live-saving blood donation inside the Exhibit Halls on the west side of the Cox Convention Center on March 15. Those who are healthy and 16 years or older can typically donate.

The Barons have an additional motivator for people to give blood at their event. Every donor over the age of 18 is eligible select a prize from a treasure chest. Some prizes may include Barons hats and cool swag from OBI. Three lucky blood donors earn the chance to be one of 40 semifinalists to win a VW Jetta to be given away at the hockey game that evening. The Barons host the Grand Rapids Griffins in the second of two weekend games this Saturday.

Friday night is Barons Night with $1 hot dogs and $2 draft beers from 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday night, the first 2,000 fans through the doors receive a bobblehead of Edmonton Oilers defenseman Justin Schultz. Schultz began his career in Oklahoma City in 2012 and was named the 2012-13 AHL Defenseman of the Year.
