Sharks to Wear Specialty SHINE Initiative Jersey on Sunday

Worcester, MA - The Worcester Sharks (@WorcesterSharks), proud American Hockey League affiliate of the San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) announced today that the club will wear a specialty SHINE Initiative jersey on Sunday, March 16 when the Sharks host the Manchester Monarchs at 3pm at the DCU Center.
The SHINE Initiative raises awareness about mental illness in children and young adults as a mainstream health issue. The specialty jerseys will be auctioned off during and after the game. A few select jerseys will be auctioned off on eBay beginning on March 23, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the SHINE Initiative.
"The Worcester Sharks are proud to partner with the SHINE Initiative," said Worcester Sharks Sr. Dir. of Business and Community Development Michael Myers. "I know our fans are going to love the jerseys and the Sharks are looking forward to help raise awareness for such a worth while cause."

SHINE Initiative Mission;
The SHINE Initiative will be a leader in the effort to recognize mental illness in children and young adults as a mainstream health issue. In pursuit of this mission, the SHINE Initiative develops funding and strategic alliances to improve public awareness and understanding of mental health issues, research and treatment.
