
Barch and Paolini return to Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, have announced that forwards KRYS BARCH and SAM PAOLINI have been returned to the Grrrowl after recent stints in the AHL. The duo is expected to be back for Game Four of Greenville's best-of-five American Conference Quarterfinal series against the Pensacola Ice Pilots Tuesday night at the BI-LO Center. In separate transactions, forward JAKE BRENK has been taken off the injured reserve list while defenseman KENNY SMITH has been placed on the seven-day IR.
Barch was loaned to Norfolk twice this season, with his most recent professional tryout coming on April 1st. He played a total of nine games with the Admirals this year, accumulating one goal and 37 penalty minutes. Barch also spent training camp with Greenville's affiliate in Norfolk during the pre-season. In 55 games with the Grrrowl this year, Barch had 30 points on 11 goals and 19 assists. The alternate captain finished third on the team in penalty minutes with 154, and he led Greenville with 18 major penalties. A native of Guelph, Ontario, Barch spent parts of four seasons with the Portland Pirates, and has played in 156 AHL games throughout his career.
Paolini was loaned to Rochester on April 6th, where he played five games for the Americans to close out the regular season. The Rochester, NY native played four games with the Americans last season, and has one goal and six PIMs in nine total games with Rochester. Paolini was acquired by the Grrrowl in a seven-player trade with Toledo on March 8th, and has since played in seven games for Greenville. He finished with 50 points in 61 games played in the ECHL this season.
ATTENTION TOP DOG MEMBERS: The Grrrowl host the Pensacola Ice Pilots in Game Four of the American Conference Quarterfinal best-of-five series Tuesday night at the BI-LO Center at 7:05 p.m. Be sure to use your "GAME B" tickets for Tuesday's game. Greenville holds a 2-1 series lead, having won a pair of overtime games in Pensacola, Florida last Thursday and Friday. The Ice Pilots won in overtime Saturday night to force a Game Four. Should it be necessary, Game Five is scheduled to take place in Pensacola on Thursday, April 21st, at 8:05 p.m. Eastern Time. The semifinal round of the American Conference playoffs is set to be played between April 22nd and May 1st.
