LAST GAME: A Xorge Carrillo sacrifice fly gave Binghamton the 9-8 win over New Hampshire Friday night at NYSEG Stadium. It was the B-Mets third walk-off win of the year. Carrillo hit his second home run and drove in a career-high five runs. Dustin Lawley added his fourth home run, as Binghamton scored more than five runs for the first time in 13 games. The B-Mets coughed up a four run lead in the last three innings, before scoring two runs in the ninth for the victory. Six B-Mets had multiple hits. Paul Sewald got the win in relief, improving to 3-0 this season.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP John Gant makes his sixth start of the year and second against New Hampshire. The righty is coming off back-to-back losses, allowing four runs and seven hits in five innings pitched against Akron last time out. He has allowed four runs, four walks and struck out four in each of his last two starts, lasting five innings both time. His lone win this season came against New Hampshire, shutting them out over seven inning at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. He allowed just four hits and two walks, whiles striking out five. The B-Mets have scored 10 total runs in his last four starts. Opponents are hitting .314 against Gant, including .317 at home.
NEW HAMPSHIRE STARTER: LHP John Anderson is making his seventh start of the year and second against Binghamton. The southpaw allowed four runs in four innings against Trenton in his last start, earning a no-decision. He has allowed nine runs and 15 hits in nine innings total, over his last two outings. His lone victory came against Binghamton, holding the B-Mets to two runs and five hits over five innings. Opponents are hitting .259 against the lefty, but .395 on the road.
ITS GOOD TO BE KING: Jared King leads all EL lead-off batters with 20 RBI this season. 18 have come when batting in the actual lead-off spot, which is also tops in the EL. Altoona's Keon Broxton is second in the league with 17.
LEFTY: Binghamton is facing their eighth lefty starter of the season, having gone 3-4 against the first seven. The B-Mets are batting .256 against lefties, compared to .270 against righties. Binghamton is averaging a run every 12.2 at-bats against southpaws, compared to a run every 7.0 at-bats against righty pitching. Josh Rodriguez is 10-for-18 with two home runs against lefties this year.
HERE COMES THE SUN: Binghamton is 4-6 in matinee's this season, losing their last three. The B-Mets are 2-1 in day games against New Hampshire this season. Binghamton is batting .262 and average 3.7 runs during the day. The B-Mets are hitting .270, averaging 4.9 runs at night.
