LAST GAME: The Binghamton Mets dropped their series finale, 4-3, with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats Sunday afternoon at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Matt Koch suffered his fourth consecutive loss, allowing four runs on 5.1 innings. Binghamton scored all three runs in the ninth inning, but left the potential tying run at third base. Josh Rodriguez led the way with three hits and a home run in his return the lineup. Xorge Carrillo also added his third three-hit game of the month. Erik Goeddel pitched a scoreless inning on rehab. The two teams split the four game series, with Binghamton dropping the last two.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Rainy Lara gets the ball in the series opener, making his first start against Erie this season. Lara faced the SeaWolves three times in 2014, going 0-1 with a 8.40 ERA. Overall it's his 17th start this season. He's coming off a loss in Richmond, in which he matched a season-high with four walks, while allowing two runs in five innings. He's 1-3 in his last five starts and has posted a 4.00 ERA since returning to Binghamton.
ERIE STARTER: RHP Tommy Collier is making his 16th start with Erie this season and his second against Binghamton. He allowed four runs and eight hits in 5.2 innings, earning a no-decision against the B-Mets in Erie back in July. He's coming off a win against the Rock Cats, having allowed four runs and nine hits in five innings. It was Collier's first win since July 20th. He began the year with Lakeland (High-A), posting a 2.09 ERA in eight starts. He has spent time in the EL each of the past three seasons and will be facing the B-Mets for the fourth time in his career. He has a 5.91 ERA since the All-Star break this season.
GREAT JULY: The B-Mets went 19-10 in July, their most wins in a month last June, 2014. Outside of that month, the B-Mets have been two games under .500 since the start of May. That includes a 10-10 August.
