Rock Cats Set for Final Homestand in New Britain

New Britain Rock Cats News Release


New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, will play its final homestand in New Britain beginning tonight through Sunday, August 30th. It will be the final seven games played in New Britain as the club will relocate to Hartford next season and be known as the Hartford Yard Goats. The Yard Goats will play all 71 Eastern League home games at Dunkin' Donuts Park in Downtown Hartford. The new state-of-the-art ballpark will be located at the intersection of Main Street and Trumbull Street.

The Rock Cats will play the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore-AL) tonight through Wednesday before the Red Sox affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs close out New Britain Stadium with a 4-game series, Thursday through Sunday. The Rock Cats have many exciting promotions scheduled for the final homestand in New Britain highlighted by Fireworks, Magnet Schedule and Poster Giveaways, Super Hero Night, Happy Hours, Player Jersey Auction and Fan Appreciation Day.

Monday, August 24 vs Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) 7:05 PM

Fans can enjoy an all-you-can eat buffet for an additional $11 (per person) from when the gates open at 6:05 PM until 7:30 PM. So come hungry and eat great while rooting on the Rock Cats in the opener of the homestand. The game against the BaySox is presented by Kocian Law Group.

Tuesday, August 25 vs Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) 7:05 PM

Come watch the "Kids Run the Show" presented by Webster Bank as 9 lucky kids were selected to assist the front office for the first three innings with the Rock Cats Entertainment Experience. The kids will be on the field with the General Manager before the game and move up to the press box to help with production as a part of their VIP Experience. It is also Family Four Pack Night presented by Vantis Life and fans can purchase 4 hot dogs, 4 reserved seat tickets, 4 waters and 4 popcorns for $40. Baseball personality Ed Randall will be at the game helping increase awareness of prostate cancer with Ed Randall's "Fans 4 the Cure."

Wednesday, August 26 vs Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) 7:05 PM

Celebrate the Latino heritage with the annual Latino Beisbol Fiesta presented by Connecticut Department of Transportation.  The Rock Cats will celebrate with a Pre-Game Autograph Session with the players and a Poster Giveaway for fans. Those in attendance will also be able to win prizes each inning with "Winning Wednesday." Prizes are provided by the Rock Cats and sponsors: Heineken, GoldBurgers, Xfinity, Guitar Center, Long Trail, Mike's Hard Lemonade, Launch Trampoline Park, Sam Adams, Budweiser and Touch of Class Auto Detail.

Thursday, August 27 vs Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) 7:05 PM

Gates open at 5:35 PM so come meet your co-workers and friends. The Rock Cats will battle the Red Sox affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs, and the game is presented by Stop & Shop.

Friday, August 28 vs Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) 7:05 PM

Come check out the final Post-Game Pyrotechnics show for the Rock Cats at New Britain Stadium presented by Stanley Black & Decker. Friday is also Super Hero Night with an appearance by Iron Man and a Power Ranger presented by Over the Top Kids Parties. In addition, the Rock Cats will honor first responders with the annual Red,White, and Blue Night, highlighting our local Police, Fire and EMT's presented by Kocian Law Group.

Saturday, August 29 vs Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) 7:05 PM

Join us on Saturday night for the final night game for the Rock Cats at New Britain Stadium. All fans will receive a 2016 Hartford Yard Goats Magnet Schedule presented by Dunkin' Donuts. Everyone will be treated to great music outside the main gates with Rock & Roll Saturday featuring the band LA BackStage Pass. It will also be the Final Happy Hour for the Rock Cats at New Britain Stadium and is presented by Twisted Tea. Following the game will be the popular "Post Game Launch a Ball" where fans can win great prizes and benefit Rock Cats Foundation.

Sunday, August 30 vs Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) 7:05 PM

The Rock Cats will celebrate the final Rock Cats game in New Britain with Fan Appreciation Day. The full day of events will begin with "The Greatest Save Youth Baseball Clinic" and Hall of Fame Celebrity Post-Game Softball game to benefit The Greatest Save, which helps protect area children and teens from sexual exploitation and abduction. Hall of Fame Pitchers Rollie Fingers and Fergie Jenkins along with former Yankees stars Jim Leyritz and Rick Cerone and All-Star George Foster will join Mike Torrez, Darrell Evans, Frank Catalanato and other former Major League players and celebrities for the event. The baseball clinic is free for kids ages 6-15 and will take place prior to the Rock Cats game and The Hall of Fame Celebrity Softball Game will follow the Rock Cats game. Kids will also get to take advantage of the final Post Game Kids Run the Bases presented by Harte Nissan and Infiniti. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on the Rock Cats white game used jerseys and the winners will be presented the autographed uniform top by the players after the game. The proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the Rock Cats Foundation.
