Wichita Thunder News Release

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder returns to action this weekend with a pair of home games and a couple of interesting promotions.

Friday is the first ever "Awful Night" when the Thunder plays host to the Texas Brahmas. The first 2,461 fans in attendance will win a truly awful prize, including fish flavored gum, black tube socks and an autographed photo copy of Senior Vice President Joel T. Lomurno's 1996 Thunder hockey card. Thunder staff members will be dressed for the occasion in home made T-shirts.

Throughout the evening fans will be treated to awful music, can try and catch a pair of underwear during the intermission tighty whitey launch and can participate in the mustard flavored sardine eating contest. The Thunder will also have a non-celebrity signing booth, featuring no one important autographing toilet paper and urge fans to stick around for a terribly awful laser light show following the game.

On Saturday, the Thunder will celebrate Sonic Thunderdog's 15th Birthday Party and all of your favorite mascots will be in attendance for the annual intermission mascot broom ball contest. It is also "Guaranteed Win Night". If the Thunder loses to the Rocky Mountain Rage all fans in attendance will receive free tickets to Tuesday's home game versus the Mississippi RiverKings. If the Thunder wins, all fans will still receive buy-one-get-one-free tickets to Tuesday's game. Fans must bring Saturday's ticket stub to the Thunder office or the Kansas Coliseum box office on game night to receive this discount.

All three games will face-off at 7:05 p.m. at the Kansas Coliseum. For more information or to order tickets, call the Thunder office at (316) 264-GOAL or visit our website at www.wichitathunder.com.
