AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Spurs (8-5), presented by SWBC, defeated the Northern Arizona Suns (3-12), 91-81, at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Thursday evening.
?San Antonio Spurs assignee Lonnie Walker IV paced the Silver and Black with 24 points (10-19 FG, 2-5 3FG). Ben Moore recorded his third double-double in a row with 13 points (5-12 FG, 3-4 FT) and 11 boards. Drew Eubanks notched a double-double of 11 points (5-8 FG) and 12 rebounds.
Strong defense from both teams made for a competitive first half with four lead changes and six ties. The Silver and Black notched eight first half steals to fuel an 11-point lead, but the Suns fought back to tie the game 40-40 going into the half.
The Spurs jumped in to the second half grabbing the lead and didn't let go for the remainder of the contest, going up by as many as 18 points.
The Silver and Black recorded a season-high 14 steals, with nine Spurs players notching at least one.
?Daxter Miles Jr. led Suns scoring with 23 points (9-21 FG). Derek Cooke Jr. contributed a double-double of 11 points (5-9 FG) and 10 boards.
