The Mudcats and visiting Dash play the rubber game of a crucial three game series tonight at Five County Stadium. The Mudcats evened the series at a game apiece last night with a 7-1 victory and tonight they turn to newly added right-hander Rob Whalen as they look for a series victory against the second half leading Dash. Whalen enters tonight's start 1-1 with a 2.13 ERA over two starts with the Mudcats since coming over the Braves system in a trade with the Mets on July 24. Overall, Whalen is 5-6 with a 3.20 ERA over 17 games and 16 starts between his time with the St. Lucie Mets and the Mudcats this season. Whalen pitched through the seventh, struck out six and allowed just one run his last time out on 7/31 in Wilmington.
Tonight's game begins at 7:00 p.m. at Five County Stadium and will air on the Mudcats Radio Network with the pre game show beginning at 6:45 p.m.
