Attack Roar Back in the Third to Get First Road Win of Season

Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack captured their first road win of 2021-22 season with a 4-2 comeback win over The Kitchener Rangers Friday night at the Memorial Auditorium.
Going into the final frame it looked like that elusive road win was going to hover just out of Owen Sound's reach, as they trailed 2-0 and had been on the wrong side of the power plays award. It took just 29 seconds into the third period for the Attack to get on the board, as Gavin Bryant stepped into a loose puck sitting in the high slot and powered it through the Rangers goalie's five-hole.
Owen Sound took that quick goal and ran with it, as they added another pair of goals just a little over five minutes into the third. Firs, just over a minute after Bryants goal, Nolan Seed's wrist shot from the side wall had eyes, finding its way through the traffic and reaching twin on the short side. It was about four minutes later, when Ethan Burroughs, took a kick out pass to the left of the net, before ripping a shot just under the bar, and giving the Attack a 3-2 lead with under 15 minutes to play.
Deni Goure provided the insurance marker with just over four minutes to play, after taking a beautiful stretch pass from captain Mark Woolley, then showing his slick hands by dangling the defender, before going bar down with the back hand.
The game turned rough after that, as four 10 minute misconducts were handed out, within the final four minutes. The Attack kept their cool though and hung on to secure the victory.
Mack Guzda was sharp throughout the game, especially in the second period, where the Attack were shorthanded four time during the period. The overage net minder came up with some spectacular point blank saves, as he kept his team in the game, and was rewarded with the big third period.
Owen Sound now returns home for a Saturday night affair with the Guelph Storm at the Bayshore. Ticket for the game can be purchased online or at the McVicar and McComb Sutton Reality Box Office.
