Spitfires Fall to Greyhounds 4-3

It was a close game but the Spitfires had 5 penalties and the Soo capitalized on 3 of them which cost the Spitfires their 4th straight win.

In the first period, James Jodoin opened the scoring with his first career OHL goal coming off the bench and sniping it top corner. Seven minutes later the Soo tied it on the powerplay. The Spitfires trailed in shots 8-6 after 20 minutes of play.

In the 2nd period, Kyle Downey made an amazing save with the paddle to keep the game tied early on. Late in the period the Soo scored again on the powerplay to take a 2-1 lead. Just a minute later andjust over a minute left in the period the Soo scored to make it a 3-1 heading into the third.

In the third period, the Soo scored their third powerplay goal 9:33 into the frame. The Spitfires fought back as Jodoin buried his 2nd of the game cutting to the net. With 35 seconds left Johnston found Zito on the back door to make it a one goal game. Just 10 seconds late D'Amico hit the post but it stayed out and it was to little to late for the Spitfires.

The Spitfires winning streak ends at 3. The Spitfires next home game is Thursday November 18th vs Erie, puck drop is scheduled for 7:30pm.
