Atlanta Returns Kulda To Chicago

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned defenseman ARTURS KULDA (AHR-tuhrs KOOL-da) to the Chicago Wolves.

KULDA made his National Hockey League debut in two games with the Thrashers after being recalled on Feb. 11. He posted his first career NHL point with an assist against the Chicago Blackhawks on Feb. 13.

The 21-year-old blueliner ranks fourth among Wolves defensemen with 15 points (3G, 12A) in 42 games this season. He also paces the Wolves and ranks first in the American Hockey League with a +35 plus/minus rating and has accrued a plus or even rating in 36 of his 42 tilts this year.

Last season, the Riga, Latvia, native tallied 15 points (G, 14A) and 59 penalty minutes in 57 contests with the Wolves during his first full professional campaign. Overall, he has collected 27 assists, 31 points and 105 penalty minutes in 104 regular-season outings with Chicago (2008 to present).

The Wolves return to action on Wednesday, when they host the San Antonio Rampage at the Allstate Arena at 7 p.m.
