Houston Aeros News Release

Houston - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned left wing Cody Almond and goaltender Anton Khudobin (who-DOH-bin) to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Almond, 20 (7/24/89), was recalled Feb. 11 and made his NHL debut Feb. 12 against Atlanta registering one shot on goal. He has recorded 15 points (6-9=15) and 43 penalty minutes (PIM) in 33 games with the Aeros in this, his rookie season. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, was Minnesota's fifth-round pick (No. 140 overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Khudobin, 23 (5/7/86), is 2-0-0 with a 0.86 GAA and a.979 SV% in two games with the Wild. He made his NHL debut in relief, Feb. 4 against Edmonton, playing 9:33 without allowing a goal to earn his first career win in the shortest time played by a goalie in the modern era (1942-43). Khudobin also made 38 saves in a 2-1 win over Philadelphia on Feb. 6 in his first NHL start. He is 10-14-1 with a 2.42 GAA, a.904 SV% and four shutouts in 28 games with Houston this season. Khudobin participated in the AHL All-Star Game on Jan. 19 making a game-high 20 saves on 23 shots faced in the second period for PlanetUSA.

The Aeros begin another 3-in-3 in Milaukee Friday night to take on the Admirals, 7:00 p.m. from the Bradley Center. Houston then travels to Chicago Saturday for a rematch with the Wolves before finishing the road trip in Peoria Sunday night.
