
Atlanta Acquires Gaarder from Orlando

DULUTH, Ga. - The Atlanta Gladiators announced Thursday that they have traded goal tender Jay Williams to the Orlando Solar Bears for forward Connor Gaarder.
Gaarder, 25, joins the Gladiators after scoring two goals in seven games for the ECHL's Orlando Solar Bears this season. The Edina, MN native began the year with Lausitzer Fuchse of the DEL2 (German second league) and managed two goals in six games played. The University of North Dakota standout registered 58 points in 151 games played during his four year NCAA collegiate career. The 5-foot-10, 194-pound winger earned his best season with the Fighting Hawks during his senior campaign amassing 20 points in 42 games. Last season Gaarder notched 36 points in 45 games for Frisk Asker of the Norwegian Professional League in his first year of pro hockey.
