Defenseman Jones Back with Aces

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - Promising defenseman Mitch Jones, who started the season with the Aces but had his rookie season cut short by injury has signed a contract with the Alaska Aces.

Head Coach and President of Hockey Operations Rob Murray made the announcement Thursday.

Jones, 21, played 22 games in Glacier Blue last season, scoring five goals and adding five assists for ten points. He suffered a severe leg injury at Rapid City February 20 andhad surgery immediately. Jones has been rehabbing and has been medically cleared to play. He will wear #26 with the Aces.

"Mitch is a tough kid with a good shot" said Murray. "His season was cut short by that terrible injury and it's been a long way back for him. We're glad he's here."

Jones and the Aces continue their series with Orlando Friday and Saturday at 7:15pm AST at the Sullivan Arena.
