Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, N.Y. -The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, proudly celebrating our 10th season in the ECHL, announced today that defenseman Brycen Martin has been recalled by the Americans.
Martin, 20, was reassigned to the Jackals from Rochester Jan. 6 before last weekend's set in Norfolk. He appeared in three games during his reassignment with the Jackals and didn't record a point. Prior to that, he was with the Amerks, where he appeared in four games without a point. In 13 games with the Jackals, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound defenseman has three points (1g, 2a).
The Sabres 3rd round pick, number 74 overall, in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft began the season with the Amerks before being reassigned to the Jackals early in the season.
The Jackals have also added Nick Niedert as an emergency backup goalie for this weekend.
