LAKEWOOD, NJ - Phillies third baseman Cody Asche, starting a major league rehab assignment with the BlueClaws on Friday, hit a pair of two-run home runs but Hickory scored twice in the 10th inning to top the BlueClaws 8-6 on Friday night at FirstEnergy Park.

After the Crawdads (39-28), who have won 13 of their last 14 games, tied the game on a run-scoring ground-out by Nomar Mazara in the ninth off Cody Forsythe, Kellin Deglan took Forsythe (3-2) deep in the 10th inning to give the 'Dads the lead.

Cody Kendall threw a 1-2-3 tenth inning to earn his third save of the year.

After Hickory scored twice in the first inning off starter Yacksel Rios, Asche tied the game with a 2-run home run in the third inning.

Rios came out after three innings and Julio Reyes allowed a 3-run home run to Nomar Mazzara in the fifth inning to put the Crawdads up 5-2.

Then Asche, who skipped Lakewood on his way up the Phillies minor league ladder, hit his second home run of the night off Crawdads left-hander Chad Bell to pull the BlueClaws within 5-4. Asche has been out since May 21st with a left hamstring strain. He went 2-3 with his two home runs and played five innings in the field.

Andrew Pullin, Andrew Knapp, and Carlos Tocci all had three hits for the BlueClaws, who fell to 1-3 in extra innings this year.

The series continues on Saturday night at 7:05. RHP Ranfi Casimiro opposes LHP Ryne Slack.
