SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - The first-place Schaumburg Boomers completed their fifth series sweep in ten chances at home so far during their Inaugural Season with a 7-4 victory over the Normal CornBelters Sunday afternoon.

The Boomers (32-19) fell behind early as the CornBelters broke through for three runs against Schaumburg All-Star Cameron Roth in the third inning. However, Roth rallied to retire the final nine he faced and allowed six hits over his sixinnings of work Sunday to join teammate Robby Donovan as the second Boomers starting pitcher to earn his sixth win of the season.

Every member of the Boomers batting order reached base at least once and the offense scoredseven unanswered runs as Schaumburg improved to 23-7 at home in 2012. The Boomers collected 13 hits in the ballgame, lead by Chad Mozingo's 3-4 effort at the plate. The Boomers outfielder scored twice and has now reached base in 18 consecutive games. Catcher Ty Nelson contributed a pair of hits including his first career double and Frank Pfister and Jereme Milons each added a pair of singles in the contest for the Boomers.

Manager Jamie Bennett's bullpen was up to the task yet again to preserve the win for Schaumburg. Joe Parsons, who pitched 1.2 innings last night, worked a perfect seventh and lefty Sam Robinson retired the only man he faced in the eighth before turning the ball over to Jason Braun. Braun breezed through the rest of the eighth but gave up a couple of hits and a run in the ninth before Adam Tollefson coerced Normal right fielder Steven Felix to ground out softly to second as the southpaw earned his first save of theseason.
