WEEK IN REVIEW:
The Amarillo Gorillas concluded a long and grueling nine game road trip with a mark of 4-4-1 and capped off the week with a victory over the Oklahoma City Blazers on home ice.
The Gorillas traveled close to 6,400 miles during the three week trip that took them to a variety of Central Hockey League cities.
Last Tuesday, Henry Kuster, Dorian Anneck, John Dean and Ben Maidment fired goals as Amarillo doubled New Mexico 4-2 at Tingley Coliseum.
Steve DeBus posted the win in goal as the Gorillas led 4-1 after 40 minutes and never looked back.
On Friday night, the Gorillas made their first appearance ever in Laredo to face the Bucks at the Laredo Entertainment Center. After falling behind 2-0, Amarillo tied the game at 2-2 on second period goals from Scott Wray and Henry Kuster.
Laredo put the game away with three consecutive power play goals including two in the final two minutes of the second period.
In Lubbock on Saturday night in front of a sell out crowd, the Gorillas surrendered two goals in 17 seconds and fell 5-3 to the Cotton Kings.
The Gorillas fell behind 4-1 midway through the third period and made a great come back on a pair of goals from Darren Curry. Henry Kuster had the other Amarillo Gorillas goal.
