Toronto Marlies News Release

The Toronto Marlies are proud to announce that Andrew Campbell has been named the team's winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the Toronto community during the 2015-16 season.

From the beginning of the season Campbell actively involved himself in the Toronto community, donating time and resources for the benefit of others. Since November he has joined the kids at the St. Alban's Boys and Girls club as part of their ball hockey program which Andrew helped organize and facilitate. Campbell also eagerly participated and helped organize the Marlies annual hospital visit to The Hospital for Sick Children. Furthermore the Toronto Marlies newly formed reading program is proud to have Andrew as one of the team's reading ambassadors, promoting literacy to students in the GTA. Along with volunteering his time, Andrew has provided a suite and refreshments to various groups in the Toronto area to 12 Marlies home games. This is the fourth time that Campbell has been named team winner for the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year.

Campbell is now one of 30 finalists for the AHL's 2015-16 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year. The league award is named after the former Hershey Bears forward and AHL All-Star who died in 1997 following a 16-month battle with leukemia. The winner of the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award will be announced by the American Hockey League at a later date.
