
Amerks to Honor Hometown Heroes on Saturday, February 22

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the Amerks will hold "Hometown Heroes Day" on Saturday, Feb. 22 as the team hosts the Hamilton Bulldogs in a 7:05 p.m. game at The Blue Cross Arena.
The Amerks are honoring all first responders such as police officers, fire fighters, and emergency medical technicians, as well as military members, teachers and employees of non-profit organizations. Prior to the Amerks-Bulldogs game, the Rochester Police Department will face-off with a team from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office in an exhibition hockey game starting at 4:00 p.m., with members of the Amerks Alumni also participating in the game.
The Amerks are also offering all Hometown Heroes a complimentary ticket to their game against the Bulldogs. Along with the complimentary ticket, they can purchase additional tickets for their family and friends for just $12. Those interested in taking advantage of the offer can do so by visiting www.amerks.com/hometownheroes. Hometown Heroes or their families can also use that link to submit a photo to be used during an in-game tribute on the video board.
The Rochester Police Foundation will be on hand throughout the night to raise funds and awareness for its cause. The Rochester Police Foundation was formed in 2012 to foster public safety, excellence in law enforcement and a positive relationship between RPD and the community it serves. Dedicated in partnership with RPD, the Rochester Police Foundation works with a range of business and civic leaders and community safety advocates on public safety initiatives, community and youth outreach programs, and crime prevention programs.
There will also be a special Hometown Heroes Day Amerks Mystery Puck sold during the game, with proceeds going to the Rochester Police Foundation.
