November 1, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans have partnered with Urology Associates of Rochester to participate in "Movember," as several members of the team are growing mustaches to raise awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men, during the month of November.

Among the Amerks players participating in Movember this month are forwards Luke Adam, Dan Catenacci, Colton Gillies, Alex Hutchings, Colin Jacobs, Johnny McGuire, Jonathan Parker, Frederick Roy, Kevin Sundher, Phil Varone and Mike Zigomanis, along with defensemen Drew Bagnall, Nick Crawford, Jerome Gauthier-Leduc, Matt MacKenzie, Brayden McNabb and Chad Ruhwedel.

To help the cause, fans can donate funds on behalf of their favorite player during the Amerks' home games on Nov. 8, Nov. 22 and Nov. 29. A picture of each player will be on display at the Amerks Community Table located on the main concourse of The Blue Cross Arena during those games, and fans will be able to place donations in the jar associated with their favorite player. There will also be Movember-themed Mystery Pucks for sale on those dates. All proceeds will be donated to the Lipson Cancer Center at Rochester General Hospital. Fans who donate to the jars or purchase a Mystery Puck will be entered into a raffle to win autographed items from the Amerks.

On Friday, Nov. 29, the Amerks will host Movember Night presented by UAR during the game against the Lake Erie Monsters. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free Movember-themed T-shirt courtesy of UAR.

Throughout the month, the Amerks will take photos and videos of the players' progress that will be posted on the team's Facebook page.
