Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Binghamton traveled to Adirondack looking for redemption after last Saturday's home loss to the Phantoms but fell 3-1 despite outshooting the home team 38-23.

The first period started quick for the Phantoms with Tye McGinn scoring at the 2:26 mark giving the host a 1-0 lead. Despite the B-Sens outshooting Adirondack 15-9 in the opening period, McGinn was able to add his second marker of the game less than two minutes before the end of the first sending Binghamton to the locker room down 2-0.

The second period held both teams to a stalemate despite the B-Sens managing 15 shots on goal for the second consecutive period.

Third period action was much of the same as the middle frame before Binghamtons Buddy Robinson put the B-Sens on the board at 14:42 for his second goal of the season. With the period drawing to a close, Kris Newbury put the game away on an empty net goal with under one minute remaining to preserve the win 3-1.

Andrew Hammond started his fourth game of the season surrendering three goals on 23 Phantom shots while Cal Heeter earned the win turning aside 37 of 38 Binghamton opportunities. With the loss, the B-Sens move to 5-4-0-0 for the season while Adirondack improves to 4-4-0-2.

Binghamton returns to action tomorrow night when they host the Syracuse Crunch in a 7:05 p.m. puck drop. Saturday night will be Ladies Night at the Broome County Arena where ladies can get tickets for $14 at the B-Sens Executive Office or Broome County Box Office.
