Amerks Announce 2008-09 Clear Day Roster

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today their 22-man 2008-09 American Hockey League Clear Day roster.

According to AHL by-laws, only those 22 players listed on a team's Clear Day roster are eligible to compete in the remainder of the AHL regular season and in the 2009 Calder Cup Playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of recall, injury or suspension. Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts after their respective junior or college seasons are complete.

The Amerks' Clear Day roster consists of goaltenders Mike Brodeur and Tyler Plante; defensemen Michael Caruso, Jason Garrison, Rory Fitzpatrick, Keaton Ellerby, Jordan Henry, Peter Aston, Franklin MacDonald, and forwards Janis Sprukts, Drew Larman, Stefan Meyer, Michael Duco, Tanner Glass, Dan Collins, Karl Stewart, Shawn Matthias, Kenndal McArdle, Michal Repik, David Brine, Randall Gelech and Riley Emmerson. Forwards Jarret Lukin, Kyle Hagel, Andrew Sweetland, Judd Blackwater and Jacob Micflikier currently remain in residence.

The Amerks remain at home on Friday, March 13th as the Toronto Marlies make their fourth and final stop of the season at The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:35 p.m. contest will be the seventh of eight scheduled meetings between the two teams this season and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live. The game will also be broadcast live over the NHL network. Toronto holds the advantage in the season series with a 5-1-0-0 record this season and have outscored Rochester 24-13 in the previous six encounters. The Amerks are 11-20-1 all-time against the Toronto Maple Leafs' affiliate.
