Florida Panthers Recall Forward Michal Repik

(Rochester, NY)... Florida Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin announced today that forward Michal Repik has been recalled from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

The recall is the second of the season for Repik, who will join the Panthers this evening to compete in tonight's National Hockey League contest against the Buffalo Sabres. Faceoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. at HSBC Arena.

A native of Vlasim, Czech Republic, the 20 year old has skated in four games with the Panthers this season. He made his NHL debut on December 8th and scored his first NHL goal that night in Florida's 4-3 overtime win against the Ottawa Senators. In 60 American Hockey League contests with the Amerks, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward has registered a team-high 41 points along with 50 penalty minutes. His 18 goals are also a team best and remains 12th in scoring among league rookies.

Florida's second-round selection (40th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Repik has a goal in last four outings with Rochester and has 22 points (11+11) in his last 20 games.

The Amerks remain at home on Friday, March 13th as the Toronto Marlies make their fourth and final stop of the season at The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:35 p.m. contest will be the seventh of eight scheduled meetings between the two teams this season and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live. The game will also be broadcast live over the NHL network. Toronto holds the advantage in the season series with a 5-1-0-0 record this season and have outscored Rochester 24-13 in the previous six encounters. The Amerks are 11-20-1 all-time against the Toronto Maple Leafs' affiliate.
