Americans Acquire Mason Finley from Edmonton

Kennewick, WA - Tri-City Americans general manager Bob Tory announced today the team has acquired 2004-born forward Mason Finley from the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for a 2026 eighth-round pick.

"Mason is an experienced WHL veteran player. He had an excellent season last year scoring 15 goals in Edmonton," said Tory. "He will add depth to our team and we welcome him to the Americans."

Finley, from Kelowna, B.C., is in his third season in the WHL after being drafted in the fifth round, 101st overall, by the Calgary Hitmen in 2019. After one season with the Hitmen, where he recorded 11 points (2-9-11) in 40 games, Finley was traded to Edmonton ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Since joining the Oil Kings Finley has appeared in 101 games, scoring 28 points (15-13-28).

Finley is expected to make his Americans debut this coming weekend as the team wraps up their Central Division road trip.

The Americans will return home on January 19 when the take on the Seattle Thunderbirds for Southridge Dental Fan Appreciation Night at the Toyota Center.
