Spokane Chiefs News Release

Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs have acquired forward Shea Van Olm (2004) from the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for forward Cole Wadsworth (2006), as well as a third-round pick in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft and a second-round pick in the 2026 Draft.

"We are excited to add Shea to our lineup - he's having a good season offensively, which will be nice to add to our lineup," Chiefs General Manager Matt Bardsley said. "He has good size and a nice skill set. His 23 games of playoff experience, along with Memorial Cup experience, will also be a great addition to our team in our goal of making a run in the playoffs."

Van Olm has tallied 29 points in 38 games so far this season with Kamloops on 11 goals and 18 assists, which are new career highs for the Calgary native. Originally drafted by the Edmonton Oil Kings in the sixth round of the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft (128th overall), Van Olm was a part of the Edmonton squad that won the Western Hockey League Championship in 2021-22. The six-foot-one winger contributed 14 points in 49 games that season (8G-6A). Since joining the league in 2020-21, Van Olm has suited up for 163 WHL games between his time in Edmonton and Kamloops (27G-38A).

Wadsworth played 71 games for Spokane, tallying 11 total points on four goals and seven assists. The Penticton, B.C. native was originally the Chiefs' fourth-round pick (73rd overall) in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

"To add a player like Van Olm meant that we had to provide Cole another opportunity," Bardsley said. "We will miss him, but wish him all the best in Kamloops."
