Wichita 11, Shreveport-Bossier 0

Chad Sherman, now 2-1 on the season, pitched a complete game shut out to lead Wichita to an 11-0 win against Shreveport-Bossier at Lawrence Dumont Stadium. The Wingnuts scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning, including three from first baseman Jorge Delgado's home run. In the bottom of the fourth, third baseman Juan Richardson hit a two-run homer, and catcher Matthew Powell was walked with the bases loaded to score Delgado. Wichita scored two more in the bottom of the sixth when designated hitter Josh Workman hit the third home run of the night. Richardson led Wichita with three hits, three runs and two RBI in three at-bats, and center fielder Brent Clevlen chipped in three hits, one run and one RBI. Shreveport-Bossier had just two hits in the game, and center fielder Robert Perry and right fielder Bryan Sabatella each had one. Joel Kirsten recorded his first loss of the season, allowing 10 hits, nine runs and striking out three in four innings pitched.

El Paso 9, Kansas City 6

Kansas City led El Paso 5-3 after the third inning, but the Diablos scored the next six runs to top the T-Bones 9-6 at Community America Ballpark. Catcher Alberto Espinosa hit a grand slam in the top of the ninth to help seal the deal for El Paso, and Espinosa had two hits, four RBI and one run in the game. Kansas City scored a run in the bottom of the ninth when shortstop Jimmy Mojica hit a solo home run, but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback. The T-Bones registered 10 total hits, and Mojica led with three hits, two runs and two RBI in five at-bats. Second baseman Albenis Machado led El Paso with three hits and three runs in four at-bats. Jon Plefka earned his first win of the season, allowing one hit and striking out one in one inning pitched.

Grand Prairie 12, Amarillo 8

Amarillo scored four runs in each of the first and third innings, but Grand Prairie scored four late runs to come back and top the Sox 12-8 at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium. Third baseman Van Pope, right fielder Tim Alberts and left fielder Adam De La Garza combined for four RBI in the bottom of the first inning, and the Sox added four more in the bottom of the third. After trailing Amarillo 8-4 after the third inning, Grand Prairie scored the next eight runs to beat the Sox. The AirHogs racked up 16 total hits in the game, and center fielder Danny Figueroa led with six hits, four runs and one RBI in six at-bats. Designated hitter Lee Cruz led Amarillo with three hits, one run and one RBI, and De La Garza chipped in two hits and two RBI for the Sox. Bo Schultz, now 2-2 on the season, earned the win by allowing no runs, no hits and striking out one in two innings pitched.
