
Altshuller Recalled to AHL Charlotte; Tirronen Assigned to 'Blades

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Monday that goaltender Daniel Altshuller (pictured left) has been recalled to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League. In addition, goaltender Rasmus Tirronen (pictured right) has been reassigned to the Everblades from Charlotte (AHL).
Tirronen, 25, joins the Everblades having posted a 4-2-0 record, a 3.33 goals-against average and a .873 save percentage with Charlotte this season. The 6-3, 209-pound netminder also earned a win in his lone appearance with the Checkers last spring. The Espoo, Finland native recorded a 12-14-3 record, a 2.30 goals-against average, and a .929 save percentage during his senior campaign at Merrimack College last season. Tirronen finished his three-year collegiate career with the Warriors with a mark of 22-34-8.
Altshuller, 21, heads to AHL Charlotte with a 10-3-0 record, and a goals-against-average of 1.50 and a .941 save percentage. The second-year pro also has togged an ECHL best three shutouts this season. Last season, Altshuller posted an 8-3-1 record, a 3.21 goals against average and a 0.881 save percentage in 14 appearances with the 'Blades last season. Altshuller also made six playoff appearances last spring which included a stellar 30-save shutout performance in a series-clinching Game 6 of the division semifinals against the Orlando Solar Bears on April 28. The Nepean, Ontario native is a third-round draft selection of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
The Everblades are back at Germain Arena this Wednesday (Dec. 16) as they take on the Orlando Solar Bears. Game time is set at 7:30 p.m.
