
Almond Selected As First Ever Armor All-Star

SPRINGFIELD, MA Feb. 2, 2010 - The NBA Development League announced today that Springfield Armor guard Morris Almond has been named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team.
Almond, currently the NBA D-League's leading scorer at 27.0 points per game and record holder for most points scored in a single game, will be making his second All-Star appearance and will be the first ever All-Star from the Springfield Armor franchise.
Almond joined the Armor on December 10th and immediately made his presence felt on the team. He has led the team in scoring 17 times this season and scored a season high 39 points in just his second game with Springfield on Dec. 15th in Fort Wayne. Besides scoring, Almond also leads the Armor in minutes per game (40.5), free-throw percentage (83%), and free throws made (189).
"We are extremely proud of Morris for making the All-Star team this year," said Armor Head Coach Dee Brown. "It's a great honor and a testament to the hard work he puts in every day. We know he will do a great job representing the Armor and the city of Springfield."
The fourth annual NBA D-League All-Star Game will be played on Saturday, Feb. 13th at the NBA All-Star Jam Session in Dallas, TX, presented by adidas. The game will tip off at 3 p.m. EST on Jam Session's Center Court and will be shown live on NBA TV, which can be found on channel 257 on Comcast, 216 on DirectTV and 402 on Dish Network here in the Western Mass area.
Springfield will take on Austin this Saturday, February 6th in their Salute the Badges Knight, proudly presented by BayState Medical Center at 7 p.m. and again on Monday, February 8th at 7 p.m. in their Mardi Gras Celebration.
