
Los Angeles Acquires Former D-Fender Gabriel Hughes

Los Angeles D-Fenders News Release
El Segundo, CA- It was announced today that Los Angeles acquired former D-Fenders center, Gabriel Hughes. To make room on the roster for Hughes, the team has waived forward, Sasha Cuic.
"Hughes was a good contributor to our team last season and I believe that he will be a tremendous asset to our team this season," Coach Chucky Brown commented. "He is a good, tough player and I am confident that he will bring a lot of energy and effort to each game."
Hughes played in 35 games with the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the 2008-09 season, contributing with an average of 8.9 points and 7.2 rebounds. The seven-foot center held a 55.4 percent field goal percentage, while shooting 70.5 percent from the free throw line.
Cuic was acquired by Los Angeles on December 16. The 6-10 forward played in 12 games with the team, averaging 5.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 14.3 minutes.
