Alaska's Empty-Net Goals Break Open Close Game Versus Utah

West Valley City, Utah - For a second straight night, the Alaska Aces broke open a one-goal game using an empty-net and defeated the Utah Grizzlies 6-3 Saturday night at the E-Center.

The Aces built a 2-0 first period lead on goals from Jim Dahl (11:36) and Julian Talbot (13:09, power-play) within 1:33 of each other.

Utah stormed back with two early second period goals to tie the game at 2. Ryan Kinasewich scored his tenth goal of the year at 1:04 of the second period and Matt Craig 37 seconds later at 1:41.

Alaska regained the lead at 12:28 of the period with Matt Robinson scoring his third of the year.

In the third, Alaska went up 4-2 with Jim Dahl scoring again at 11:46. Danny Stewart added his second goal of the season for Utah making the score 4-3.

Mike Scott and Ryan MacMurchy added empty-net goals in the final minute to seal the win.

Sean Fields stopped 37 of 41 in the loss for the Grizzlies.

Utah now hits the road for four straight starting Friday and Saturday in Bakersfield. Utah returns home December 30 hosting Las Vegas.
