Chiefs blow away Cyclones 3-2 in overtime

Johnstown, PA (December 16, 2006) - The Johnstown Chiefs defeated the Cincinnati Cyclones by a score of 3-2 in overtime at the Cambria County War Memorial on Saturday night.

Radek Smolenak scored his eighth goal of the season and second in as many nights to open the scoring at 3:27, banging a pass from Andre Deveaux past Cincinnati goaltender Chad Collins to give the Chiefs a 1-0 lead.

Cincinnati evened the score at 10:54 of the second period when Scott Reynolds tapped a goalmouth pass behind Chiefs goaltender Morgan Cey, who replaced the injured Gerald Coleman in the first period.

Johnstown took a 2-1 lead just 3:19 into the third period as Doug Andress blasted a pass through the legs of Collins with the Chiefs on the power play.

The Cyclones tied it up at the 15:26 mark of the third period when Jason Deitsch scored, one-timing a pass from Mathieu Aubin past Cey.

With the Score tied in overtime, Adam Henrich picked off a pass at center and broke in alone on Collins, making a move to his backhand and depositing the puck through the five-hole and into the net to secure the win for the Chiefs in overtime.
