Augusta Lynx News Release

Augusta, GA - Come celebrate the holiday season with the Augusta Lynx as they host their annual Teddy Bear Toss tonight, plus Santa and his elves will make a special appearance when the Charlotte Checkers come to town at 7:35 pm.

The Lynx are urging fans to help make a child's Christmas brighter in the CSRA this year by bringing a new, unwrapped stuffed animal to tonight's game to be thrown on the ice when the Lynx score in the first period. All toys collected will be distributed by the team to local charities and hospitals, including a visit to pediatric patients at Doctor's Hospital on Monday, December 18 at 2 pm.

Tonight's game will also be a chance for fans to bring new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots to be dropped at the James Brown Arena's collection site just inside the main doors.

As a bonus, Lynx fans may not leave empty handed! Last night against Florida Everblades the Lynx gave away a 5' air hockey table, courtesy of Academy Sports. With Santa and his elves in the building tonight, more giveaways are sure to ensue, just in time for the holidays!

This evening will also mark the first time this season for the Checkers Restaurants' BEAT CHECKERS/EAT CHECKERS Promotion. If the Lynx defeat the Checkers tonight, fans will receive a coin good for a free Checkers hamburger with the purchase of a large soda pop at all participating locations.

Come out and join the Lynx for tonight's game and give back to the CSRA community in this season of caring.

Tickets are on sale now by calling the Lynx office at (706) 724-4ICE, through all TicketMaster locations, and on line at www.TicketMaster.com. Seats are $11, $15, and $18, with discounts available to students, seniors, and military personnel with valid ID.
