Aeros Sign Defenseman Lampman

HOUSTON --- The American Hockey League's (AHL) Houston Aeros, affiliate of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild, today announced that the team has signed defenseman Bryce Lampman to a Professional Tryout (PTO) contract.

Selected by the New York Rangers in the fourth round (113 overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Lampman has appeared in 400 professional games, registering 117 points (33-84-117) and 298 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-foot-1, 201-pound defenseman played in 10 National Hockey League games, all with the New York Rangers, recording two penalty minutes over three seasons.

Lampman, 28, played in 57 games for the Peoria Rivermen last season and collected 20 points (7-13-20) along with 22 penalty minutes (PIM).

The Rochester, Minn., native skated in nine games with Amur Khabarovsk in Russia during the 2008-09 season and posted four PIM. Prior to that he spent five seasons with the New York Rangers organization and split one season between Norfolk and Iowa of the AHL.

The Aeros (7-6-1-2, 17 points) play host to the Chicago Wolves at Toyota Center Wednesday night. Face off is set for 7:05 p.m.
