Aeros Outfielder Tim Fedroff Named Indians Minor League Co-Player of the Week

AKRON, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced Akron Aeros OF TIM FEDROFF and Columbus Clippers starter RHP ZACH McALLISTER have been named the Indians Minor League Co-Players of the Week for the week of May 15-21. The Player of the Week award recognizes an individual performance from within the Indians Player Development System and will be announced each Tuesday thru the end of the minor league baseball season. All players from the Tribe's minor league affiliates are eligible for the weekly award.

This past week, Fedroff hit .609 (14-23) with 8 runs scored, 2 doubles, a triple and 6 RBI in 7 games for the Akron Aeros. Yesterday, he was also named the Eastern League Player of the Week for the week of May 16-22.

Fedroff has currently hit in 17 consecutive games since May 4, during which he is batting .485 (32-66) with 13 runs scored, 6 doubles, 2 triples and 14RBI. The 17-game hitting streak is tied for the longest in the Eastern League this season. On the year, Fedroff is batting .377 (55-145) with 22 runs scored, 7 doubles, 3 triples, 2HR and 21 RBI in 40 games. He leads the Eastern League in average (.377), is 2nd in hits (55), 4th in on-base percentage (.422), 5th in OPS (.929) & 8th in slugging percentage (.507).

A native of Flagtown, NJ, Fedroff was selected by the Indians in the 7th round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of North Carolina following his redshirt sophomore season. Last year he hit .274 with 4HR and 36RBI in 118 games with the Aeros.
