Madrigal to Trenton, Okamoto to D.L.

(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announce that RHP Warner Madrigal has been transferred to Trenton from Triple-A Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre. In a corresponding move, LHP Naoya Okamoto has been added to the Disabled List, retroactive to May 22. With the move, Trenton still has a full 24-man active roster.

Madrigal spent the 2010 season with Triple-A Oklahoma City and Double-A Frisco, both members of the Texas Rangers farm system, where he combined to go 5-2 with a 3.73 ERA. The righty has made 44 career Major League appearances (one start), all with the Texas Rangers, going 0-2 with a 6.10 ERA. Madrigal, born in the Dominican Republic, was originally signed by the Anaheim Angels as a non-drafted free agent on July 21, 2001.

The Thunder open a three-game series in Reading Tuesday at 6:35 PM with LHP Shaeffer Hall taking the mound. Hall will oppose Reading RHP Austin Hyatt. The SBLI Pre-Game Show with Hank Fuerst begins at 6:20 PM. Tune in to the game on 91.3 WTSR and on trentonthunder.com.
