AKRON, OHIO - The Akron Aeros announced today the hiring of Scott Riley as Assistant General Manager.

Riley, a native of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and a graduate from the College of Charleston, has spent the past nine years working full-time in professional sports. Starting with the Charleston RiverDogs, Riley spent three seasons as their Director of Merchandise before becoming the Director of Promotions and Merchandise for the St. Paul Saints. After two seasons with the Saints, Riley ran a branch of the Minnesota Twins' official team shop and in 2011, was named the Akron Aeros' Director of Merchandise.

Riley returned to the Twins organization the following year as their Vending Manager and Assistant Concessions Manager before deciding to head back to Akron.

As Assistant General Manager, Scott will oversee all aspects of the ballpark operation, which includes concessions, operations and merchandising.

"We are thrilled to add someone of Scott's talent and experience to our staff," said Aeros General Manager Jim Pfander of the hiring. "His passion for Minor League Baseball and outstanding customer service is what will help set apart the experience at Akron Aeros games," noted Pfander.

"Scott will be a great addition to our staff and he will help bring our fan experience and customer service to new heights at Canal Park for the rest of this season and in years to come," added Pfander.

Riley noted that he can't wait to get involved with the community and is ready to be a part of the Aeros' bright future in Akron.

"I'm excited about what's already happening at Canal Park," said Riley. "I want to be a part of the vision that Ken Babby and Jim Pfander are taking this franchise, while they continue to tie in the community of Akron with this great team," said Riley.
