Aeros Assign Three to Gators

Augusta, GA – The Louisiana IceGators today announced the team has been re-assigned defenseman Max Fortunus and goaltender Kyle Kettles from the Houston Aeros. The Aeros also assigned to Louisiana right wing Marius Holtet, the Dallas Stars 2nd round pick in 2002 NHL entry draft.

Fortunus has posted five points (1-4=5) and six penalty minutes in 13 games with the IceGators this season. Playing in one game with the Aeros last week, the 6-foot, 190-pound native of La Prairie, Que., had no points in a 3-2 loss to Rochester on Thursday night.

Kettles did not play during his call up to the Aeros. In eight games played this season for the IceGators, Kettles amassed a record of 4-3-1 with a GAA of 2.98 and a save percentage of .906. The 23 year-old netminder from Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba was called up after his strongest outing of the year, a 32 save shutout over the Texas Wildcatters on November 27.

Maruis Holtet ,a 20 year old native of Hamar, Norway, is the highest drafted Norwegian player in the history of the NHL. Holtet was drafted by Dallas in the 2nd round of the 2002 NHL entry draft, the 42nd player taken overall. The 6' 0" 190lb. right wing played for Norway in the IIHF World Junior Championships in 2002, 2003 and 2004. In 17 Games for the Aeros this season, Hotlet had 3 points (2-1-3) to go along with 22 penalty minutes.

All three players are expected to be in the lineup Tuesday night when the Gators face off against the Augusta Lynx.

The IceGators return home to the Frozen Swamp on Tuesday night December 14th to face the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05pm.
