Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI--Admirals goalie Juuse Saros came within 1:24 of recording his second straight shutout as he stopped 32 shots to help guide the Admirals to a 3-1 win over Lake Erie on Friday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
It marked the first time this season that the Admirals had won consecutive games and also brought them back to .500 with a 4-4-1 record on the year.
In spite of being outshot 11-7 in the first period it was the Admirals who were the ones to find the back of the net as Viktor Arvidsson scored his second on the season with 5:52 remaining in the opening period. With the Ads on the power-play, Vladislav Kamenev chipped the puck from behind the right post, through the crease over to Arvidsson on the left dot and he fired a rocket over the shoulder of Monsters goalie Anton Forsberg.
Anthony Bitetto pushed the Ads lead to 2-0 when he centering pass deflected off the stick of Lake Erie's T.J. Tynan and into their net.
The Monsters Alex Broadhurst ended Saros' shutout streak at 126:35 when he scored a 6-on-4 goal off a scramble to the immediate right of Saros with just 89 seconds to go in the game.
However, Max Reinhart put the game away for Milwaukee with an empty net goal with 32 seconds remaining in the game.
Colton Sissons earned an assist on the Bitetto goal to extend his scoring streak to six games, the longest of his career.
The Admirals will look for a sweep of their first 3-in-3 of the season when they travel to Rockford Saturday night at 7 pm.
